BEST. SALSA. EVER.
This is NOT an exaggeration. It has been scientifically proven.
And I have many, many, many people who would back me up on this one. The world HAS GOT TO KNOW about this salsa recipe so please share this recipe with anyone you know who eats food.
The beauty about this recipe is that it is very versatile. All the quantities can be modified to suit your liking, but start off with the suggested amounts, and then the next time you make the salsa (there will be a next time believe me), you can add more chilli if you like it spicier, add less garlic if you are going out on the pull in town that night, etc. etc.
6 tomatoes (diced)
1 small onion (chopped)
large handful of coriander (chopped)
1 red or green chilli (finely chopped)
2 gloves of garlic (minced)
Juice of lemon or lime
TIPS FOR MAKING SALSA
Use ALL of the coriander including the stalks, that is where the flavour is at
Use ALL of the chilli, don't be a wuss and de-seed it, use the god damn seeds
If you are making very large batches of salsa then a potato chopper is super handy for chopping the tomatoes
If you have a mini food chopper, the chilli, garlic, and coriander can be pulsed with it, it's dead handy and saves all the fiddly chopping
The salsa can literally be eaten with ANYTHING. I like it loaded on top of burittos, tacos, nachos, chilli con carne, breast of chicken, or serve it as a dip at your next party to become known as the best host(ess) in town.
It is also an awesome breakfast accompaniment, and goes amazing with bacon, eggs, and avocado. Try it, you WILL love it!
Keep it spicy,
